Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently a sportscaster for ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the child of the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable talent that enabled her to get her first job working as an assistant to the producer at Univision in Miami and gave her the chance to collaborate with producers of national shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. When she was in St. Petersburg, she was then recruited by the CBS station to work as a sports journalist. Her move into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish channels KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories on the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of the border, she was an anchor for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for the 9 p.m. news in English, and an anchor for the news at 10:30 p.m. Spanish newscast. She also served as a sports anchor on Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail of Veracruz Mexico. In Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd November 1985. Also, she has an older sibling. She is the older sister. Her parents divorced soon after and her mother remarried a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in the year 2006. She stayed with her family in Canton Ohio with her older sister during the summer, where she had been provided with the opportunity of a job. Antonietta was a senior in high school, yet she had a clear idea of the path she wanted. When she was deciding whether Mount Union would be a good fit for her Antonietta visited the university. It was a beautiful campus and offered the degree she wanted. When she finished high school, she decided to go to the university to pursue a degree with Media Studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor - was also the managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm for journalism. Additionally, he profoundly influenced her.
